With the DC14SL Animal vacuum cleaner, cleaning and maintaining hygiene becomes a household work you'll love to do. Equipped with 1400 W, the DC14SL Animal uses Root Cyclone sucking technology. This makes it more powerful than the traditional vacuum cleaners. The DC14SL Animal vacuum cleaner is equipped with a HEPA filter+Bactisafe that eliminate allergy causing bacteria and micro- organisms. Its Clear Bin system of emptying the container is practical and allows you to clear it without getting in contact with the dust. The DC14SL Animal vacuum cleaner is an ideal solution to keep your house sparkling clean as well as the well being of your family.
Mini turbine head: Designed by Dyson, the mini turbine head is ideal for removing pet hair and fibres from confined spaces such as upholstery, stairs and the car.
HEPA + Bactisafe: Root Cyclone technology captures microscopic particles, whilst the HEPA filter with Bactisafe screen traps and kills bacteria and mould on contact.
Telescope Reach: Quick release wand expands for instant cleaning so there are no awkward parts to assemble for high-reach jobs.
Root Cyclone Technology: A Dyson cyclone spins air at high speed. Dirt and dust are thrown out of the airflow and collected in the bin, not on filters or in bags. So unlike other machines, Dyson doesn't clog and lose suction, so it picks up more dirt.
Large debris channel: The additional front channel on the cleaner head means that larger dirt and debris are not 'snowploughed' across a smooth floor, so you can pick up larger pieces such as rice and nuts first time.
No running costs: The pre-motor filter removes particles down to 0.1 micron and is washable. The post-motor filter traps harmful carbon emissions from the motor. This filter never needs replacing.
Approved for allergy sufferers: DC14 Telescope Reach models have been approved by the British Allergy Foundation.
Instant stair cleaning: Extendable hose reaches to the top of the stairs.
Hygienic and quick to empty: No need to touch the dust - just push the trigger.
Car cleaning: For easier cleaning in confined areas the tools can be fitted directly to the end of the wand or the hose.
Motorised brushbar: All Dyson uprights have a motorised brushbar. This improves pick up on carpets by sweeping the dust and fibres trapped in the carpet pile into the constant Dyson airflow.
Anti-jam brush bar: To prevent belt breakage or gear damage, the brushbar disengages and makes a ratchet noise to warn when it is obstructed.
Auto carpet-height adjustment: Maintains constant contact with the floor to maximise dust pick-up.
Clear Bin: You can see how well the Dyson works, there are no bags to buy, you can always tell when it's full and it is easy to empty.
Dual handle: Lowered handle for easy carrying.
Edge cleaning whiskers: DC14's suction is channelled right to the edges of the cleaner head, unlike many uprights. Its specially-designed whiskers, angled to reach down between the skirting board and the floor, flick the dust from the edge into the airflow.
Had the last dyson 10+years (Model DC01)and it was brilliant. This Christmas it stopped working. Original belt, 1 change of brushes plus regular filter changing. Not bad running costs for 10+ years so we decided to go for another.
Ordered at 11:00am and delivered 10:00am the following day. Unpacked, plugged in and the carpet was clean again. Even better suction then the DC01. Easy to empty, no mess at all. Extra length electric lead so that you dont have to unplug it when you move into another room. Quite, does not frighten the dog. The mini turbine head is brilliant on the 3 piece suit.
If this last as long as our original I will be happy. Just wish I bought the car cleaning assessory at the same time.
I may go for the washing machine next.
What a waste
I bought this model for well over £200 just over two and a half years ago and put it in the skip today. I bought it as I had heard lots of recommendations about Dysons in general and the model looked the business. Originally its suction was quite good but I did find it cumbersome and a pain to use. After about a year the hose started to break and the suction declined. Recently, the on/off switch failed and needed to be held down for it to work which was totally impractical. There was too much wrong with it to try and have it repaired. I had my old Electrolux for over 11 years and it was still working when I gave it away. I don't have any dogs and it didn't have a hard life. Because of the cost I feel it deserves only one star. I feel very disappointed.
Very happy customer
My new Dyson arrived on Saturday, and very happy with it. Sure the cylinder fills up quickly, but that's probably more down to our previous cleaner doing such a bad job. Our carpets do look brand new now - quite a transformation given that we have a black cat. The stair tool and extendable wand did reach to the top of our stairs, but as the motor is so strong, it was a bit of a "pull" to get it there. Fine for me (early 30s), but I'm sure older folk could struggle with that.
Not quite sure how to use the mini turbine head. It's a bit too cumbersome to use on stairs, and can't see me using it in the car. Was fine for getting behind the TV though.
Altogether an impressive piece of kit. Will see if it has the same suction power in a year's time... Very strongly recommend - particularly to pet owners.
